Here's my prattle for the day people. I'm going to attack Australia's golden child Jennifer Hawkins. For those of you that don't know, the newest issue of Marie Claire Magazine released today features a nude Jen, completely unairbrushed.
WHATTTTTTTT She's really a fat forty year old male?? No, but we can all dream right. She looks exactly as you would expect. 100% stick thin perfection. And really this just aggravates me more than her going on the cover airbrushed. Girls aren't going to pick up this magazine and think, Oh look she's just like me after all! They're going to compare themselves to a stick thin model that has genetically won the lottery.
Marie Claire lose my respect for not having the foresight that this would not help Australia's body image crisis but rather hinder it.
To the right is a photo of jen before Miss Universe. Just thought it was a bit of an intteresting snap.... Nice to see how she's been completely tranformed when put under the spotlight.
"I'm not a stick figure - I thought it would be great to tell women to just be themselves and be confident," Hawkins tells the magazine, which hits news-stands on Wednesday.
Not a stick figure?? I'm sorry but all my life I must be under the wrong impression of the meaning of "stick figure" because honey, if anyone is, you are. I don't even see the imperfections or cellulite I'm sure every other woman has. I look at this photo and think
I'm really proud of Bianca Dye for speaking out about this issue, and I'm outraged at claims that she is just "jealous" of Hawkins. She appeared in Madison magazine last November for a similar body image campaign. When asked about the photographs Dye said
"She's a lingerie model ... how brave is it for her to take her clothes off?"
"No wonder there are so many eating disorders out there."
Dye also stated that the photographs were a "bit of a slap in the face to people like myself".
Okay well that's about all I've got to say for now. Don't even get me started on Megan Fox!
Love Always
